Shattered Globe Theatre Presents the American Premiere of
London Road
by Alecky Blythe (book and lyrics) and Adam Cork (music and lyrics)
directed by Elizabeth Margolius with Music Direction by Andra Velis Simon
April 22 – June 3, 2023, at Theater Wit
Determined and tenacious, the residents of Ipswich, UK mobilize to overcome the immense fear and media circus that unfolds following the serial murder of 5 sex workers in their small town. This experimental and innovative new musical is based on a true story, using verbatim dialogue recorded during interviews with the people of Ipswich. Brought to the American stage for the first time ever, London Road is an uplifting story that reveals how a devastating tragedy can spark empathy and engender community resilience.
This musical is 2 hours 15 minutes, with one intermission.
Performances take place at Theater Wit (1229 W Belmont) where Shattered Globe Theatre is a resident company. Visit this page for information on public transportation to the theater and parking.
For group discounts, please contact Shattered Globe at groupsales@shatteredglobe.org or by phone at 773-770-0333.
A “miraculously innovative show, … [London Road] not only explores the way it takes a crisis to engender community spirit but opens up rich possibilities for musical theatre.
